Center walls cell size 5.4mm

Center walls for honeycombs in cell size 5.4mm is the most commonly used cell size. It's a bit bigger than that of nature. When introducing the center walls for honeycombs, this large cell size was deliberately chosen. Man had assumed that a slightly larger bees can transport more nectar and thus increase the honey yield. Today it is known that this is not trivial. However, our honeybees have been read out to this cell size by using the large cells for about 100 years. The step back to the smaller cells is therefore not readily possible. Who does not actively breed is well advised with these middle walls.
