Spacers for honeycomb frames are used for the correct arrangement of frames and combs in the beehive. A 7mm frame spacing is preferred for combs with 28mm wide bars (top bar), creating a comb spacing of 35mm (center of comb to center of comb). These spacers are also ideal for use with combs with small cells of 4.9mm, 5.0mm, or 5.1mm, to achieve a comb spacing of 32/33mm with frame bars of 25mm width and the use of these spacers. Spacing regulation in organic beekeeping is thus no longer a problem; avoid plastic and metal and use a natural and environmentally friendly solution. The bees appreciate the use of wooden spacers by reducing propolizing, which significantly eases the handling of bee colonies.
Application / Attachment of the Spacers:
The spacer has a fastening pin with a diameter of 4mm and a length of 6mm. It can be attached with some adhesive in a hole (3.5 - 4mm diameter and at least 6mm deep) on the honeycomb frame.
