Wax extraction
Beeswax was already used in the Egypt of the Pharaohs. The wax, a product that is produced by the bees in addition to honey, has been a raw material for candles that has been in demand for a long time. The wax produced by the bees in the wax glands is used as a building material for the honeycomb. The beekeeping wax is obtained by melting the honeycomb and covering wax. Either sun wax melters or steam wax melters are used for this. By boiling with water, honey residues and existing pollen are removed. A large part of the cleaned wax is processed by the beekeeper into new central walls. The central walls are given back to the bees as a construction aid. The surplus can be processed into candles or offered for purchase to beekeepers.
