Why beeswax foundaion with cell size 5,1mm? The cell size of 5.3mm to 5.5mm, which has been introduced for about 100 years, has grown historically. In the past until today it is believed that larger bees can transport more and the honey yield increases. Today it is known that this is not the case. An undesirable effect of this enlargement of the honey bee is a greater susceptibility to disease. Many professional beekeepers and well-known breeders therefore take the step back to a cell size of 5.1mm and some beyond to 4.9mm cell size of the honeycomb. The smaller cell causes that on each Rähmchen more cells are present which makes a substantially better warmth household for the bees possible.
The middle wall production takes place with us in a special pouring rolling procedure which results in a distortion-free in each direction exact cell size.
