Langstroth frame suitable for Stehr combi hive system
The Stehr hive system includes a variety of different frames with a wide range of comb sizes. This makes it possible, for example, to form comb brood frames from different hive systems and comb sizes. The changeover from one comb size to another can be completed in just a few days, or more precisely in one brood cycle of 21 days. Simply place the brood chamber with the desired comb size on the bottom of the Combi hive, place the queen with bees in the frame, put on the barrier and the frame with the old comb size. After 21 days, all the brood in the upper chamber has hatched and the queen has created a new brood nest at the bottom. The bee colony is now sitting on the new desired comb size.
